Cowboy Hats

If you know me……you know I love cowboy…….uhhh…….cowgirl hats. ha
And, I love them in different colors.
What you may not know is what is always under my cowgirl hats.
Not long ago, I grabbed a round brush for my long hair and got the thing stuck right in the top. The harder I pulled the more tangled it got. I tugged and tugged on it but it would not come out.
Unfortunately, I was suppose to meet with Eric Hansen that day and my family and I were going to a movie later.
Well, with a big round brush in my hair, I just threw on a cowgirl hat and we left the house.
I had not known Eric very long and he looked at me rather strangely.
You see the hat set crooked on my head because the handle was sticking out.
Finally he asked me what was wrong with my hat. I took it off and he saw the big round brush sticking up on top of my head.
He disappeared and came back with a HUGE set of pruning shears. They were like 4 feet long with an enormous blade attached.
He said, “Tiffany sit very still.”
He chopped the handle to that brush right off the top of my head.
Whew………poor guy……..he didn’t know just all he would get into working with me. ha
So, I put my hat back on and my family went to the movies. My mom thought maybe people behind us couldn’t see so she asked me to take my hat off.
I did it reluctantly.
Later that night I just pulled and cut and pulled and cut.
Eventually, the brush came out but I had a bald spot right on the side of my head.
BUT…….I just put my cowgirl hat on whenever I left the house!
So, now you know why I love cowgirl hats but you never know what might be going on under them.

Have a fun day,
T.J.

More on Children Helping Children

We have made several trips to deliver tickets to kids with families in the military.
Not long ago, I received a wonderful letter from the Commander of Davis Monthan, Colonel Stuzriem.
You’ll find that letter in my website on the charity page.
I appreciated that letter so much. I know he must be a very busy man but he let me know how much military families appreciate the support they get from the civilian community.
I just wanted those kids to realize how much I appreciate what their families are doing to help make this a safer place for us to live.
I just wish sometimes I could help make their serving safer.

In addition to money I collect from the sell of my cd and online there are also folks who contribute while I’m out performing. I have also had folks donate passes to fairs etc. to Children Helping Children.

A couple months ago, a really nice friend and mentor donated over $2,000 in passes to a county fair. Michael Searle and Terry Haifley, both from Arizona, presented me with passes to the Pinal County Fair for the charity. My mom and I drove down to the base and delivered them the very next morning. I am so grateful to both of these men. And, Sargent Kaylor at the base “jumped for joy.”

Have a great day,
Tiffany Jo

My charity Children Helping Children

So, after a few years of raising thousands of dollars for charities I started wanting to know where all this money was going to. My mom told me that it was going for good. I asked her what kind of good. She told me if I ever really wanted to know where my charity money was going, I would need to start one myself.

I thought about this for a long time. I didn’t want to buy kids socks, or shoes or food. I figured some of these other charities were giving them that kind of stuff. I wanted to bring kids FUN! I figured ALL kids love to have fun.
So then I thought about where I love to go for fun. I love amusement parks.

So almost three years ago, I started a charity called Children Helping Children. This was the same time that the war in Iraq was starting so I thought it would be good to do something for kids who have parents fighting for our country.

I had meetings with several stores who were selling my cd to let them know about the charity. They were, almost, all extremely agreeable. Then I had to talk with several owners of “fun” amusement parks. And, they went excited too. So, I started donating $2 from each of my cd’s sold to Children Helping Children.
When I’m out performing I also donate the $2 on all of my cd’s sold.

I collect the money and hand deliver it to different amusement parks. One of my favorites is the Funtasticks Amusement Park and Fiddlesticks Amusement Parks. At a great price, I buy all day passes. Then, my mom drives me to military bases. We have made several trips to the Davis Monthan Air Base. I have several contacts at the bases and they are very kind people.

I’ll talk about my charity more later. But, it’s a great feeling knowing that I can help bring a smile to a kids face.
I know that everybody has their favorite charities but if you have a couple dollars you would like to give to Children Helping Children it would sure be appreciated. You can do that on my website. Just hit the Charity icon. You can do it with a charge card or just send it through the mail.

So far, I have been able to send over 300 kids who have parents serving our country to amusement parks and fairs.

Hope you have a great day,
Tiffany JO

If any of you have not been to my new website please go there. About 4 months ago I met an incredible woman who told me she had a few ideas for my site. Well………a new site was born. ha
The womans name is Judy Rose. Judy really put her heart and soul into this site. I think she does awesome work and she really cares. I have seen other sites she has done and they are good too.
Not only is she talented but she listens to what YOU like and then incorporates it into your site.
I’ve experienced other site builders but I did not get near the “caring” as with Judy Rose.
Judy is not really a site builder……..she’s a creator.
She starts from zero and carefully adds each little touch.
Have a good one,
Tiffany Jo (Yodeling star)
