Well it’s Sunday and storming in Tucson! I love watching the storm clouds and seeing the rain come over the mountains. We don’t get alot of rain here but this time of year we get the monsoons. WOW is that neat.
I had a practice today with the musicians that will be performing with me in Hatch, New Mexico.
I am sooooo excited to me headlining in Hatch at the Chili festival. I’ve heard it is incredible. Thousands of people come there from all over the world. That is the first weekend in September.
My nana has played back up guitar with me since I started. She’s also the one that got me to yodeling.
And, John Payne is our bass player. John is the president of the Home Ranch Hands in Tucson. The Home Ranch Hands are a really awesome group of people who donate their time and energies to preserve western music. The Home Ranch Hands put on an incredible festival here in November called The Tucson Cowboy Music Round Up. I love being a part of the Home Ranch Hands.
Actually, they invited me to be the performer on their float at the Tucson Rodeo Parade this year. Ever heard of that? It’s the world longest non-motorized parade. Well there were 178 entries including choirs, bands, etc. and our float. It was my nana on guitar, John on bass and me singing, yodeling and playing the guitar. I yodeled and sung for 3 miles!!!!! I’m happy to report that we came in 1st place in music!!!!!!!!!!
So, the three of us practiced going over the schedule for Hatch today! It’s going to be awesome!
Well…………I better get some rest. I have a recording session in the morning!
Later,
Tiffany
