I’ll be performing at a church in Green Valley tomorrow morning. Actually, the music director is going to be gone so he asked me to do all the music.
I love gospel and am looking forward to meeting the folks there.
I better get back to practice.

We had a great time performing at the Pinal County Fair. This was our 4th year and I love the people there.
I’m on a first name basis now with folks from all over the country. I missed seeing Don the Auctioneer this year. His friend told me that he and his wife did not get to Arizona this winter.
The same people come every year and it’s like one big homecoming!!!

The man over this fair, Michael S., has become my friend. Michael is one of my biggest supporters and has given me some incredible opportunities. We first met him, when I was 9 years old. Michael has also been very supportive of my charity, Children Helping Children. He and his wife are some of the kindest people I have met with my music.

Well, I will admit, I love to stay busy.
When I was sick with that whole latex thingy…….between school work ……..I started doing Ukranian eggs.
Actually, I was at a cultural celebration at the mall and met a couple from Russia who were doing the most beautiful eggs I have ever seen.
I watched them forever and ended up at their home the next day looking at all the eggs they have done.
They are so talented.
I was able to get all the “tools” I needed from them. I have always done the eggs with a candle and nail but NOW I have the actual kitska to do the eggs, plus beeswax and all the dyes.
If you have never seen a Ukranian egg it’s done with hot wax and dye. I think they are beautiful.

YES!!!!!!!
I was just awarded the 2007 Rick Felix Youth Entertainer of the Year!!! I am so excited!

Rick Felix was an incredibly talented entertainer and mentor who died tragically in a car wreck a few years ago. After his death, this award was started in his memory.
Those of you who knew Rick will agree that he was one-of-a-kind. I think he was one of the best entertainers I have ever heard.

Rick was very, very nice too and very supportive. Rick started working with me when I was 7 years old. He taught me some songs and worked with me on my yodeling. When I was 8 years old, I was invited to a festival. Well, there was a mix up in the schedule and I was not put on.
Rick was very upset. He was scheduled to appear on the mainstage that day and he told me to take his slot on that stage. I will never forget that. I’ve never met anyone like him.

He was very funny too. He made me laugh with his “tickle monster.”

I love his wife, Pam. ANd, felt so honored when Pam introduced me before she and Mary Brown gave me the award at the National Festival of the West.
