Gospel Rescue Mission

I am a part of a great homeschool group called the Little Women’s Club. We basically get together, do service projects to help others and really have a good time together. This year we all got together and painted over 2000 placemats and put together 2000 napkins with forks etc. for the Gospel Rescue Mission Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners. On the back porch was a huge table with our supplies on it and we all kept walking around that table. Well, all of the sudden we heard something and a huge rattle snake slithered out from under the table. WE ALL RAN. Thank goodness none of us were bit but it was a close call.

Have a great day,
TJ

School has started!

Gee where did the summer go????LOL
School just started! Ever so often someone will ask me about school and where does it fit into my performing. That’s a great question!
I started homeschool in the third grade. I had not started singing and playing my guitar yet. Homeschool was not something my parents were familiar with but I was very bored in school and the school wanted me to skip grades. So, we started homeschool. My schooling experience has always been very academic. Our style of homeschool has always focused on the core subjects (math, writing, reading, grammar etc.) but we did a BIG study of history from creation in chronological order. We spent a year studying each particular science. We didn’t just study Greece. We studied it and then put on a big greek festival and invited our family. We had greek clothes, food, music etc. It was so much fun! AFter we studied Great Britain we invited my grandmothers, aunts etc. and we had a very lovely tea. We turned one whole room in our house into the solar system the year we studied astronomy.
This year I am doing an online school based in Arizona but all of my material comes out of Virginia. It’s nice because I can take my laptop with me when we travel and I have my school work right with me. Also, I am taking a college class.
When I get out of highschool, I will go to college…………whew………..that’s a ways off. In the meantime, I am able to do what I love to do the most…….SING!!!!!!!!!!!
Homeschool isn’t’ for everybody but it sure was and is a blessing for me!
Enjoy your day,
Tiffany JO

I LOVE COLORADO!!!!!!!!!!

I really love Colorado! If you live there……..you are lucky! I love the mountains, the cool temps and the people. We took my little brother to the North Pole. Ever heard of that? That’s where Santa Claus hangs out in the summer along with all his elves etc. It is so much fun! They have over 40 rides. It’s like a big amusement park only funner because it’s high in the mountains and the cable cars go through the pine trees. My brother loved it. We went when I was six and my mom went when she was little. For her it’s like a Chevy Chase Vacation to Wally World. lol
She says it hasn’t changed in over 40 years. ha They have added a few rides but alot of it is the same. For younger kids it’s a magical place………and I loved it too!
Merry Christmas in July,
Tiffany Jo
